Several events taking place in Italy are reported on Land of Sun and, every day, the site reports anniversaries too.
Events are divided into categories:
- Religious festival
- Devotion
- Historical reenactment
- Palio
- Sagra
- Party
- Fair
Each event can be allocated to one or more categories, because most of the events does not include a single type of manifestation (for example, a sagra could take place concurrently with a historical reenactment).
Anniversaries are divided into categories too:
- Birth
- Death
- Historical event
- Religious festival
- National day
You can consult events and anniversaries from "Events" in the main manù in the top of the page.
- Anniversary: clicking here you can find a calendar where the most important anniversaries are reported. Clicking on a specific anniversary, an overlay with all anniversary's details are displayed. Here, you can add comments too. In the calendar every anniversary's category is marked with its own color (see the legend);
- Events - Map Search: in this section you can find events (divided as previously described) displayed on a map. Here you can choose the categories, the district and the period in which you want fund events. You can search for a specific term too. This tool is very useful when you know the name of event and you want find quickly other informations. Clicking on an event's marker, more informations of the event will be shown in a baloon. From the title, an overlay will appear where you can find all informations about the event and, moreother, you can rating, write a comment or a revies;
- Events - Calendar: here you find a calendar with all events; to consult it, first of all you have to choose one or more categories. you can filter the results adding a specific district or a term. When you have set alla parametres you have to click on "Apply" and the calendar will be shown. Every event's category is marked with its own color (see the legend). Clicking on the event's name, an overlay will be shown with all event's details. Here you can also rate, comment and write a review.
Important: only past events can be reviewed!
